Dr. David Anyitey-Kokor

Dr. David Anyitey-Kokor is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and a part-time lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He currently serves as the General Secretary of the Orthopaedic Association of Ghana (OAG), where he plays a key role in the Association’s strategic planning, administration, and organisational development.

A former Chair and current member of the OAG Outreach Committee, Dr. Anyitey-Kokor has been instrumental in expanding surgical outreach programs and strengthening trauma care delivery across Ghana. His leadership has helped extend orthopaedic services to underserved communities while supporting professional development initiatives for healthcare workers.

In addition to his clinical and leadership roles, he is a passionate educator involved in the training and mentorship of medical students and orthopaedic trainees. His academic and professional interests include trauma systems strengthening, fracture management in low-resource settings, orthogeriatrics, and community-based orthopaedic care.

Dr. Anyitey-Kokor is a strong advocate for equitable access to surgical care and has contributed significantly to the success of multiple AGSM conferences. He continues to support national and international collaborations aimed at advancing orthopaedic care in Ghana and the sub-region.
