The Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has launched Orthopaedics Month throughout June 2025, focusing on public education and free surgical care.
Under the theme “Strong Bones, Active Lives,” the initiative includes fundraising to support patients in need of procedures such as fracture repairs, joint reconstructions, and deformity corrections.
Dr. Abeiku Hammond, Ag. Head of the Directorate emphasized the burden of untreated musculoskeletal conditions due to financial barriers.
Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo, Consultant and Ag. CEO noted that KATH is committed to providing free services where sponsorship allows.
The Orthopaedic Association of Ghana (OAG) applauds the initiative and encourages stakeholders nationwide to support and replicate such efforts.
